Nicole Jones

Licensed Professional Counselor

Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose career journey spans over 15 yrs. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, children/adolescents, victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and group facilitation. Throughout her profession she has worked with individuals in a community mental health agency setting, private practice, crisis center, rehabilitation facility and serving parishoners at a church. Nicole’s clinical approach is eclectic and customized to fit her client’s needs by meeting them where they are. It is her goal while walking alongside them to improve their mental wellness, to be supportive; making them feel safe, heard and free to be a better version of themselves.

Nicole earned her Bachelor’s Degree at St. Louis University before earning her Masters Degree in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Her unique degree allows her to practice clinically while integrating spiritual aspects if the client chooses to do so. She is also a Certified Gottman Seven Principles Workshop Facilitator and holds a certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from Troy University.

Nicole’s passion for helping others began with being a Court Appointed Special Advocate with the judicial system in St. Louis MO. In this role she advocated for and mentored youth who were placed in the foster care system. While in St. Louis, she also volunteered at the Division of Youth Services helping young ladies who were in a residential facility for various reasons heal from trauma and equip them with tools for family reunification. Her passion increased while working as a Children’s In-Home Therapist where she served children and their families on an intensive level as well as conducted mental health evaluations for local hospitals to assess the need for psychiatric placement.

Nicole holds membership with the Alabama Counseling Association, she also sits on the Department of Human Resources of Escambia County Board, works with the Children’s Council Policy of Escambia County and is the Co-Founder of Prima Girl, a local mentorship program geared towards young ladies ages 10-18yrs old. In the previous years she has served on the Multineeds Board which is a state program geared towards helping at-risk youth and their families. Nicole is active in her church, passionate about serving her community and helping create leaders for the next generation. She loves spending time with friends and family, going on road trips and her favorite food is ice cream…yes she considers that a food group!
